BUILDING A THRIVING COMPANY

Global Concessions, Inc. (GCI) was formed specifically to operate food and beverage concessions in major transportation hubs in the United States. With the opening of our first store in April 1991, we participated in the introduction of branded concepts at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (HJAIA). As a multi-concept operator, GCI now has ten operating concessions brand concepts in the HJAIA.

Global Concessions Past, Performance and Experience

GCI’s first project was the development and operation of a Gyro Wrap on Concourse B of the HJAIA. In 1996, the company expanded its operations to include two Ben & Jerry’s scoop shops, two Pretzel Times, and a “chic-eclectic” style lounge, developed by the company named Sojourner’s Café. GCI now operates three Sojourner’s Cafés which have become “the place to be” for travelers.

During 1999 GCI introduced Nathan’s Famous to the HJAIA. The results of this project were so significant that during 2000, GCI converted it’s two Pretzel Times to Nathan’s and added an Arthur Treacher’s to the Nathan’s on Concourse T. As a result, GCI has increased revenues by more than 1,200 percent since 1991.

Employing over 200 co-workers, GCI emphasizes customer service as a major point of focus. When GCI was initially formed, it adopted “Setting the Standard for Excellence in Customer Service” as its creed. Although meeting this creed continues to be a big challenge, the company was fared well in becoming noted for its high customer service standards.

Today, GCI through its ten locations present a sophisticated, relaxed, and stimulating atmosphere that cater to the unique needs of airport travelers.
